Create Animated Deck Slides In Adobe InDesign

Take deck slides to another level in Adobe InDesign.

Whether you're giving a lecture or delivering a keynote speech, having a strong slide presentation can make the talk that much more powerful.

In this tutorial, I am going to show you how to design a small set of presentation slides in Adobe InDesign and add simple animations to them.

For this lesson, you can still be in the Essentials workspace, but other panels needed are Animations and Timing, which can both be found under Window > Interactive dropdown options.

Let's start with the animations in the layout starting on Page 1.

  2. In the Preset option, select Fade In.

  3. In the Duration field, set the option to 1 second, however you can change to your desired preference.

  4. With the Selection Tool, click on the main image frame once and open the Animation Panel.

  5. In the Preset option, select Fly in From Bottom.

  6. In the Duration field, set the option to 1 second, however you can change to your desired preference.

  7. In the Opacity dropdown, select Fade In to get a nice transition when it animates.
